ABOUT INITIATIVE
The goal of civilian initiative called “Civilians Thank” is to build trust between the civilian population and the armed forces of Czech Republic.
Our initiative is purely a volunteer activity, which falls under a non-profit organisation LonelyBase z.s. and is financed only with donations from individual civilians of the initiative and their friends.
PURPOSE
Security. Feeling, that every one of us needs. However, for many years we took it for granted. Today’s world is showing us that it is more dangerous than we have long thought. It is all the more important that we focus our attention on those who are able to defend us and sacrifice their own lives for this service. So let’s thank the members of our armed forces together! Because safety is not a given.

We are closely following the service of Czech armed forces for over 15 years. And not only on military missions in Iraq, Afghanistan, Mali or the Sinai Peninsula. In 2017 we have published a successful book “The other life”, which with help of real stories and photography portraits the life at military bases and front lines. Members of our initiative come from different backgrounds, from artists, creatives, security professionals to scientists and medical staff.
